Policies and agreements

Everything you need to know before we start working together ...

Client Agreement

Nature of the Service

  • The service is collaborative and entirely client-led
  • I provide guidance, structure, and practical support
  • All decisions regarding items and organisation remain with the client
  • I do not make decisions on your behalf unless explicitly agreed

Client Responsibilities

  • Be present and engaged during sessions (unless otherwise agreed)
  • Share any relevant circumstances — physical limitations, access requirements, etc.
  • Ensure a safe and appropriate working environment

Working Environment & Safety

  • I reserve the right to pause or end a session if the environment becomes unsafe
  • Where young people are present, supervision by a responsible adult is expected
  • I will not work alone with a vulnerable adult or young person who needs additional support

Liability

  • I take all reasonable care while working in your home
  • I am not liable for any pre-existing damage or issues
  • Clients are responsible for arranging appropriate disposal of items unless otherwise agreed

Data & Privacy

Information I Collect

I may collect basic personal details such as your name, contact information, and notes relevant to the organising service (e.g. notes from consultations). Nothing more.

How Your Information Is Used

  • To communicate with you
  • To plan and deliver organising services
  • To keep a record of sessions and agreed actions

Data Storage & Confidentiality

All personal information is treated as strictly confidential. Data is stored securely — whether in digital or paper form — and only kept for as long as necessary.

No Third-Party Sharing

Your personal data will never be sold, shared, or passed on to third parties — unless you have given explicit permission, or it is required by law.

Your Rights

  • Request access to your personal data at any time
  • Ask for corrections to any inaccurate information
  • Request deletion of your data (where appropriate)
  • Opt out of communications at any time

I aim to handle all data in line with the principles of the UK GDPR

Use of Photos

Photos of spaces (before/after) will only ever be taken or used with your clear, written consent. This will always be agreed explicitly before any photos are taken.

Safeguarding

Working with Vulnerable Adults

When working with individuals who may be considered vulnerable, I will always treat every client with dignity, respect, and patience; work at a pace that feels safe; ensure decisions remain client-led; and remain alert to any signs of distress or potential harm.

Young People Present

  • Clear professional boundaries are maintained at all times
  • I avoid being left alone with a young person wherever possible
  • A responsible adult should be present or aware during sessions
  • I reserve the right to pause a session if appropriate boundaries cannot be maintained

Lone Working

As a self-employed professional working in clients' homes, I keep a record of all appointment times and locations, inform a trusted contact of my schedule, carry a mobile phone at all times, and trust my judgement to leave any situation where I feel unsafe.

If Safeguarding Concerns Arise

If a client discloses information that raises concerns, I will listen calmly and without judgement, avoid making promises of confidentiality where safety may be at risk, and take appropriate steps to seek advice or report concerns where necessary.

Credentials

  • Enhanced DBS Certificate — registered on the Update Service
  • Safeguarding training completed April 2026
  • Public Liability Insurance held
